Many of us who grew up during the 1960s and 1970s have fond memories of snuggling up in front of the tv watching Christmas specials as a family. There were no VCRs, DVDs or streaming technology available. Whatever night the show was set to air was the night the country watched it together. We would thumb through the TV Guide or newspaper schedule to see when How The Grinch Stole Christmas, Frosty The Snowman, A Charlie Brown Christmas, Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town and Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer were on. It was an important part of the holiday season.

Luckily, these classic Christmas specials are still available to watch today. Besides television airings, we can buy the DVDs or stream them online to share whenever we are feeling nostalgic. By introducing these to our children and grandchildren, we get to go back in time to simpler days and magical moments. There are even products and collectibles today from these shows that are designed to appeal to the Baby Boom generation. These are an added luxury to create new memories with family while keeping the meaningful traditions alive.
