The telephone which was considered a luxury when it first came out, quickly became a real necessity for most families. By 1954 a majority of all households in the U.S. had their own telephone.
Today, mobile phone service is considered a must for our “on the go” lifestyle. Being able to immediately call an agency or loved one in an emergency is a real plus. We are never too far from help. It doesn’t take long at all for advances in technology to go from the notion of luxury to necessity!
